Senior Account Director, Technology & Innovation Group

This role involves strengthening National Bank's presence in the technology market, reporting to the Managing Director and Team Lead for Eastern Canada. The Senior Account Director will work collaboratively to build long-term relationships with Canadian private and public companies, and private equity-backed businesses, by offering comprehensive financial solutions. Key responsibilities include business development, preparing and presenting pitch materials, structuring and analyzing innovation-sector profiles, and collaborating with internal and external partners. The position also entails portfolio management, supporting client management, overseeing new financing files and renewals, identifying financial risks, and contributing to continuous improvement of risk management processes and tools. The ideal candidate will be results-driven, eager to contribute to a dynamic team, and focused on market expansion.

What We're Looking For

Develop a comprehensive and robust business development plan.,Prepare and present pitch materials and formal presentations to existing and prospective clients.,Structure and analyze a wide range of innovation-sector profiles: startups, venture-backed companies, private companies, and publicly traded firms.,Collaborate closely with internal teams (Investment Banking, NA Ventures, Corporate Banking, Capital Markets) and external partners.,Introduce key internal partners (Private Wealth 1859) and external stakeholders.,Coordinate negotiations with internal stakeholders (legal, credit, syndications) and external parties (clients, financial institutions).,Contribute to the growth of loans and deposits, conduct due diligence activities, manage risk, and ensure client satisfaction.,Support and collaborate with the account manager, financial services director, and treasury director in client management.,Oversee onboarding of new financing files and monitor renewals.,Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.,Coordinate approvals and contribute to continuous improvement of risk management processes and tools.,Support the management team in achieving objectives.,Embody the Bank's culture and values: entrepreneurial mindset, empowerment, collaboration, and agility.,Act as a team player and leader, demonstrating commitment and resilience.

Ideal Candidate

Bachelor's degree with 7 years of relevant experience, or master's degree with 5 years of relevant experience.,Professional designation is an asset.,Strong expertise in commercial credit.,Experience in the technology sector or similar, with knowledge of venture capital and/or private equity.,Knowledge of complex financing structures (syndicated loans, capital markets instruments).,Experience in business development and negotiation.,Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities.,Bilingualism (French/English) required due to national coverage.
