SBI Bilingual Senior Insurance Underwriter

Description

This Senior Underwriter role focuses on driving profitable growth through quality underwriting in commercial insurance. Key responsibilities include collaborating with internal partners to identify new business opportunities, providing expert technical guidance to advisors and customers for risk pricing, and qualifying underwriting files based on customer needs. The role also involves developing and maintaining relationships, acting as an an escalation point for junior underwriters, and ensuring portfolio quality and profitability. The Senior Underwriter will also contribute to market research, business case development for pricing and product improvements, and the communication of any changes, while identifying concerns regarding loss ratios or risk trends.

Drive profitable growth through quality underwriting with a commercial focus.,Collaborate with internal partners to identify new business opportunities.,Provide superior technical expertise to advisors and customers to price risk appropriately.,Qualify underwriting files by understanding customer needs and risk characteristics.,Develop and maintain relationships cross-functionally and with external stakeholders.,Act as a point of escalation for more junior underwriters.,Maintain the quality and profitability of the portfolio and refer risks outside of established authority levels.,Provide insights on market research and analysis and develop business cases for pricing, coverage, and product improvements.,Contribute to the introduction and communication of pricing, coverage, and/or product changes.,Help identify areas of concern regarding loss ratios, risk trends, or other discrepancies.,Participate in Quality Reviews and audits as required.,Support maintenance of a compliant UW environment in relation to guidelines and rules.

Ideal Candidate

Undergraduate degree or relevant professional certifications, designations, or equivalent required.
