The Retail Banker I serves as a vital customer liaison at TD Bank, utilizing financial expertise and providing consultative advice to assist customers with their banking needs. This role is crucial for delivering TD’s Brand promise by identifying and recommending appropriate solutions to help customers achieve their financial goals and enhance their relationship with the bank, thereby contributing to overall business objectives and growth.

What We're Looking For

Proficiency in banking products, services, and routine transactions to educate customers and make referrals to internal partners.,Broad knowledge of the full product suite, services, and processes within the business area.,Establish and nurture customer relationships through consistent product knowledge and active listening.,Make product recommendations based on identified customer needs.,Utilize Customer relationship management tools for proactive customer assessments and outbound sales activities.,Independently resolve customer issues, errors, and problems, escalating when necessary.,Build working relationships with customers and explain detailed or complicated information clearly.,Participate in customer outreach, servicing, and advice activities.,Engage in conversations with customers about loan products and facilitate the application intake process.,Maintain an active registration status with NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry).,Deliver a 'Legendary Experience' by building relationships and providing excellent service and advice.,Understand and support the Bank's Customer Service Strategy, offering end-to-end advice.,Serve as a Customer advocate, improving financial confidence, providing resolutions, and offering proactive tips.,Engage in lobby leadership by managing customer flow, welcoming customers, discovering initial needs, and guiding them appropriately.,Educate customers on self-service banking options.,May perform a variety of teller transactions including check cashing, deposits, transfers, and withdrawals while adhering to fraud mitigation and operational policies.,Ensure compliance with company guidelines and regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act.,Participate in daily store operations to ensure alignment with TD's risk framework.,Support the timely and accurate completion of business processes and procedures.,Ensure accuracy of documentation and consistency with relevant rules/regulations.,Comply with the Bank's Code of Conduct.,Contribute to business objectives for Operational Excellence.,Participate fully as a member of the team, fostering a positive work environment.,Continuously enhance knowledge/expertise and participate in knowledge transfer.,Participate in personal performance management and development activities.,Keep others informed about project status and day-to-day activities.,Contribute to a fair, positive, and equitable environment.,Act as a brand ambassador for the business area and the Bank.,Utilize feedback from coaching sessions to improve performance.,Establish relationships with partner bankers for effective referrals.,Collaborate with team members to contribute to the success of the team and organization.,Actively seek opportunities to improve work delivery with high attention to quality standards.,Take ownership of career development and seek diverse feedback.,Positively embrace change.,Adhere to TD's Shared Commitments and code of conduct expectations.,Engage in advancing and sustaining an inclusive culture.

Ideal Candidate

High School Diploma or GED.,1+ years' experience working with customers and/or sales, or equivalent demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience (preferred).,Teller experience (preferred).,Ability to complete teller training upon hire.,Demonstrated ability to engage in customer conversations and educate on products/services (preferred).,Demonstrated organization skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.,Excellent communication skills (concise, clear, and consistent).,Demonstrated ability to schedule and prioritize work.,Demonstrated ability to work independently and within deadlines.,Sound judgment in decision making and effective problem solving.,Proficient in Microsoft Office.,Notary License (preferred).,Must be eligible for employment with a covered financial institution under Regulation Z of the Truth in Lending Act.,Must be eligible for registration as a registered mortgage loan originator with the NMLS.,Satisfactory results on a criminal background check and a credit report check.
