Relationship Manager Intern, Commercial Financial Services

This 9-month internship at RBC offers a proactive, face-to-face client relationship role within the Commercial Banking platform. Based primarily in a Commercial Centre, the program includes mentorship and training to equip interns with the skills to deliver exceptional service to commercial business clients across various financial services, including accounts, credit, lending, and deposits. Training involves on-the-job experience, self-study, online courses, and classroom sessions.

What We're Looking For

Deliver value-added financial advice and tailored solutions to clients.

Utilize sales enabling tools for planning, prospecting, and pre-call preparation.

Apply a continuous-improvement approach to ensure a superior client experience.

Develop and implement needs-based sales strategies to increase revenue, strengthen client relationships, and foster high client loyalty.

Ideal Candidate

Minimum 1-2 years of experience in commercial lending (preferred).

Previous banking experience in a relationship management role.

A post-secondary diploma/degree, ideally in commerce or business administration, or related experience.

Demonstrated success in business development, including new client acquisition, prospecting, and cold calling.

Experience with financial statement review, computer modeling, and analysis.

Experience with emerging communications and technology (e.g., web-based meetings, social media, digital banking, mobile applications).

Passion for providing quality advice and fulfilling client needs (nice-to-have).

Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills (nice-to-have).

Entrepreneurial attitude and self-motivation to achieve above-average results (nice-to-have).

Continuous learner with a deep curiosity for understanding diverse customers and staying updated with client needs, procedures, and relevant products (nice-to-have).
