Project Manager I (Cagewash Manager)

Description

This role involves managing the cagewash program for the Insourcing Solutions team in Bethesda, MD. The manager will plan, organize, and direct the activities of the cagewash program, ensuring the integrity of research by maintaining facility operation, condition, security, and sanitation levels.

What We're Looking For

Provide daily direction and supervision to cagewash technicians to maintain facility operation, condition, security, and sanitation levels, as well as coordinate personnel scheduling.,Ensure staff operates and maintains equipment and supplies; develop projections for equipment, personnel.,Conduct routine inspections to determine if standards are being met.,Evaluate and adjust the workflow to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of cagewash operations.,Conduct/participate in training activities and ongoing learning, including improvement planning.,Develop and implement new or updated SOPs.,Coordinate and communicate special projects/procedures, supervise record maintenance, as well as generate/submit reports to management on operations-related issues.,Coordinate preventative maintenance on all cagewash machinery, equipment, and materials; in addition to organization and up-keep of physical environments.,Troubleshooting equipment issues, performing minor repairs, and coordinating service visits.,Identify, document, and/or report environmental or cagewash abnormalities.,Use of computer programs to maintain data and reporting is required.,Actively interact with customers to resolve requests, inquiries, and complaints, and to provide technical assistance.

Ideal Candidate

A.A. in Animal Science or a related field plus 4 years lab animal experience or B.A./B.S. degree or higher in Animal Science or related field plus 3 years lab animal experience.,Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience in a multi-labor category rodent facility.,AALAS certification at the Laboratory Animal Technologist level (LATG) required.,Customer service experience preferred.,Cagewash equipment maintenance experience preferred.
