Production Supervisor

Description

Saputo Inc. is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee production employees, ensuring maximum productivity on assigned shifts. This role involves planning, assigning, and directing work, addressing complaints, resolving problems, and upholding company policies and safety regulations. The supervisor will work with management to monitor and improve production efficiency, product quality, and employee safety, while also coordinating schedules, conducting training, and recommending improvements to methods and equipment.

What We're Looking For

Supervise production employees to maximize productivity.,Plan, assign, and direct work.,Address product and employee complaints and resolve problems.,Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Company policies, OSHA regulations, and applicable laws.,Assign, direct, review, and monitor work of supervised staff.,Ensure proper procedures for production efficiency, quality, employee safety, and state/federal guidelines are followed.,Inspect products for conformance to specifications; direct setup and adjustments to machines.,Coordinate production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements.,Evaluate production needs for daily assignment of duties; establish or adjust work procedures.,Complete all assigned paperwork (production/packaging records, sanitation lists, schedules, accident reports, etc.).,Coordinate and conduct employee training (job, safety) and monitor performance.,Recommend improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.,Analyze and resolve work problems.,Maintain time and production records.,Collaborate with other supervisors to coordinate departmental activities.,Provide supervision for assigned employees in scheduling and daily activities, ensuring effective selection, retention, feedback, disciplinary action, and performance management.,Participate in grievances solutions or other contract related activities if a collective bargaining agreement exists.,Ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures.,Support employee progressive disciplinary action activities in partnership with Human Resources.,Promote safety programs and policies to reduce incidents.,Train and instruct employees regarding production and equipment standards and processes.,Oversee instruction, implementation, and enforcement of policies related to employees.,Engage in typical responsibilities of a manager (planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, delegating).,Adhere to the Saputo code of ethics and actively apply Saputo values.,Perform other duties as assigned.

Ideal Candidate

Associate’s degree in Operations Management or equivalent experience.,One to three years of supervisory experience in a food packaging environment preferred.,Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices.,Experience leading and following Safety/Security Policies and Procedures.,Ability to follow all Sanitation and Quality Policies and Procedures, and report and follow through on deficiencies.,Ability to work flexible hours including weekends.

Minimum Education

Associate's Degree (or equivalent experience)
