At RBC Insurance, this Product Owner role is crucial for building the next-generation Finance and Actuarial data platform. The individual will act as the business's voice, transforming financial and actuarial requirements into scalable data capabilities to enhance controls and reporting under IFRS17. Working within a SAFe-structured ART, the Product Owner will manage their squad's backlog and delivery, collaborating closely with the Senior Data Product Manager on the multi-year platform vision. The role requires deep data acumen and a problem-solving mindset to find innovative solutions.
Support the product manager in understanding business needs, shaping problem statements, and translating ideas into clear user stories and delivery requirements.,Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, and other agile rituals, ensuring priorities are clear and delivery is aligned to outcomes.,Collaborate with technology, engineering, analytics, data science, governance, and business stakeholders to define MVPs, manage trade-offs, and enable delivery.,Participate in continuous discovery approaches by setting workshops, user interviews, solution framing, and testing sessions.,Contribute to initiative planning, roadmap maintenance, and cross-squad coordination.,Track and communicate delivery progress, risks, and outcomes across stakeholders.,Work closely with analysts and engineers to support product performance tracking and usage insights.,Help maintain and develop product artifacts and documentation in JIRA, Confluence, and team spaces.,2 to 5 years of relevant experience in product management, business analysis or a delivery role within a data heavy environment.,Exposure to Data product development, ideally with experience working on modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, GCP).,Strong foundation in Agile delivery, including backlog management, refinement and sprint planning.,Ability to operate in ambiguity and help clarify needs across business, technical and operational teams.,Comfortable working across cross-functional squads and managing competing priorities.,A problem-solving mindset.
