Product Group Technology Lead - Information Lifecycle Management

Description

The Product Group Technology Lead for Information Lifecycle Management at The Toronto-Dominion Bank is responsible for enabling and scaling enterprise technology capabilities to automate and operationalize information lifecycle controls. This includes driving the design, development, and delivery of platform services and AI-enabled products that manage retention schedules, classification, legal holds, and defensible disposition. The role ensures solutions align with TD’s operating model, regulatory expectations, and enterprise data risk management standards to achieve risk reduction and business value.

What We're Looking For

Define and own the ILM product vision, roadmap, and value stream, including discovery, prioritization, and release planning.,Embed Data Risk and Disposition (DRD) controls 'by design' and 'by default' into target platforms and data products.,Ensure ILM capabilities support regulatory and policy requirements, such as data lifecycle, data quality, and records expectations.,Lead cross-disciplinary engineering teams (platform, data, security, privacy, and records engineering) and establish engineering standards, SLAs/SLOs, and automation-first practices.,Integrate ILM with metadata, catalog/lineage, policy, and workflow systems to enable policy-as-code, event-based retention, and automated evidence capture.,Drive adoption through reference architectures, playbooks, onboarding kits, and migration patterns; partner with domains to remediate legacy storage.,Architect ILM capabilities (classification, retention schedule orchestration, legal/information holds, archival, disposition, and immutable logging) that interoperate with identity, privacy, security, and records functions.,Implement event-based retention, policy-as-code enforcement, and lineage-aware disposition with recovery safeguards.,Operationalize DRD procedures including exceptions, moratoria/holds, and defensible disposition; standardize evidence packages for audits.,Partner with Data Risk Management for second-line oversight and challenge; map ILM controls to Data Risk Management domains and applicable regulations.,Establish fleet-level telemetry and dashboards for exposure, control coverage, and time-to-dispose; coordinate enterprise clean-up campaigns.,Engage Legal, Privacy, Records & Information Management, Security, Data Owners/Stewards, Domain PGTLs, and Platform COEs to align on standards and design decisions.

Ideal Candidate

10+ years in data/records/information governance, platform engineering, or security/privacy engineering.,5+ years leading cross-functional product/platform teams at scale.,Demonstrated delivery of enterprise Information Lifecycle Management capabilities (classification, retention, legal holds, archival, disposition) with measurable control coverage and audit evidence.,Proven ability to align with Data Risk Management frameworks and translate regulatory/second-line requirements into pragmatic technical controls and telemetry.,Strong architecture skills across cloud and on-prem data platforms.,Experience integrating ILM with metadata/catalog, identity, and workflow systems.,Excellent stakeholder leadership and communication skills with Legal, Privacy, Risk, Records, and Technology partners.,Familiarity with records & information management standards and financial-services regulatory expectations (e.g., OSFI/BCBS).
