This role involves leading the comprehensive execution of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) mandates, serving as a primary point of contact for clients, and guiding entrepreneurs through the strategic planning of business transactions. Key responsibilities also include managing transactional negotiations, proactively handling expectations, and ensuring clear communication with all involved parties. The individual is expected to meet deadlines, deliver excellent results, contribute to the success of transactions, and support the growth of the consulting department.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who will: lead and be involved in the transaction and execution processes for corporate purchases, sales, and mergers, while supporting partners in mandate management; explain the various stages of business transfers to clients from both seller and buyer perspectives; assist clients and their legal advisors with due diligence in collaboration with auditors and tax specialists; support clients on special mandates alongside partners (e.g., shareholder agreements, service agreements, loan contracts, investment projects); collaborate with the tax team on legal documentation review; ensure compliance and understanding of legal and commercial aspects, and desired financial and tax outcomes; lead strategic discussions with clients and stakeholders; participate in and support negotiations; conduct complex financial analyses and industry research; prepare financial models, analyses, and valuations; create corporate presentations for potential clients; coordinate and participate in financial due diligence with the business valuation team; effectively plan and prioritize team tasks; supervise, mentor, and train team members on deliverables, providing constructive feedback; contribute to the development of team models; and help optimize practice processes.

Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate has: a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (BAA); ideally, a second-cycle university degree in a relevant field such as finance or accounting; CPA professional designations; EEE(CBV) or CFA designations are considered assets; a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience; strong accounting, financial, and analytical skills, particularly in financial modeling and valuation; in-depth proficiency with software used in financial markets; excellent client relationship abilities; and outstanding verbal and written communication skills in both French and English.
