Portfolio Management Consultant

Description

This role involves providing expert advice and insights on portfolio management best practices, encompassing trading and rebalancing strategies. The consultant will support teams in making informed decisions and analyzing business practices related to RBC Dominion Securities' discretionary programs. Additionally, they will assist with desktop applications for discretionary platforms to prevent trading issues, correct errors, and foster business scalability.

What We're Looking For

Conduct one-on-one meetings with both discretionary and non-discretionary teams to determine their investment philosophy and implementation strategy.

Build and maintain relationships with new and existing Portfolio Managers (discretionary licensed Investment Advisors) and their teams.

Discuss best practices regarding Investment Policy Statements, asset mix monitoring, quarterly reviews, and service plans to assist in streamlining investment processes and operations.

Help set up advisor books for portfolio modeling and ongoing management for new clients, multiple legal registrations, withdrawals/deposits, asset mix changes, or tactical/geographic asset class changes.

Assist new employees/competitive recruits in familiarizing themselves with trading and modeling platforms (TradeLink, ClientLink, A+ Desktop, TAC).

Help teams modify their investment management philosophy when necessary and liaise with the Managed Solutions Group, Portfolio Overlay Team, and Portfolio Advisory Group for feedback and suggestions.

Lay the groundwork to build scalable Unified Managed Household tools (A+) for both discretionary and non-discretionary advisors.

Assist with various aspects of portfolio management specific to ClientLink modeling for discretionary and advisory teams, including creating models, attaching portfolios, running trade lists, handling exceptions, and outlining how to manage everyday transactions.

Provide training on integration into the discretionary platform.

Special Commitments

Must be willing to travel (mix of either day trips or flights) for a combined total average of two weeks per month, often for one to four days at a time, with some overnight travel required.
