Physical Commodity Trader & Sales Representative

Description

This role at McGill St Laurent involves active buying, selling, and executing deals for physical lumber and agricultural products throughout North America. The position requires identifying and developing new suppliers and buyers, negotiating pricing, rapidly closing sales, maintaining profit margins in dynamic markets, overseeing logistics, and expanding a client portfolio. It focuses on tangible product transactions rather than financial trading.

What We're Looking For

Prospect and develop suppliers and buyers,

Negotiate purchase and resale pricing,

Close deals in short sales cycles (e.g., one day),

Protect margins in a fast-moving pricing environment,

Stay involved post-sale to ensure smooth logistics and execution,

Build and grow a book of business across North America

Ideal Candidate

Comfortable making fast decisions under pressure,

Organized in managing both closing deals and follow-through,

Minimum 3 years experience managing full B2B sales cycles,

Experience in commodities, distribution, logistics, construction materials, or agriculture (asset)
