Payroll Tax Manager (North America)

Description

This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of U.S. payroll tax compliance, ensuring accurate and timely federal, state/provincial, and local tax filings. The manager will lead a team of five or more employees and serve as a key liaison between the company and external vendors like ADP, as well as internal departments including HR, IT, Finance, and Legal, to optimize tax processes and system integrations.

What We're Looking For

Oversee all aspects of U.S. payroll tax compliance.,Ensure accuracy and timeliness of federal, state/provincial, and local tax filings.,Manage a team of 5+ employees.,Act as a primary liaison with external vendors (e.g., ADP) and internal departments (HR, IT, Finance, Legal).,Provide people management leadership (hiring, goal setting, development, performance management, compensation decisions, teamwork promotion, disciplinary actions).,Oversee operational functions and activities within a unit.,Demonstrated effective relationship management.,Ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and adapt to changing priorities.,Ability to balance workload and align work to resources.,Ability to measure and analyze metrics.,Serve as a key escalation point for significant risk/exceptions.,Monitor service and control standards.,Contribute to business planning.,Implement and test new processes or technologies.,Coordinate with partners in HR, Technology, Finance, and Risk Management.

Ideal Candidate

Undergraduate degree required.,7+ years relevant experience required.,People management experience required.,CPP or FPC certification required.,5 years Workday experience (a must).,ADP SmartCompliance experience (highly preferred).,5+ years managing teams including remote workers.,Experience working for a large corporation (5K+ employees).,Multi-corporation/multi-state payroll tax experience.,Broad knowledge of Human Resources policies and procedures.
