The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing packaging, whey, and production departments to optimize productivity across assigned shifts and areas. Key focuses include safety, quality, cost efficiency, and fostering a positive employee environment. This involves planning, assigning tasks, directing work, and addressing concerns related to products, customers, and employees, all in adherence to company policies, OSHA regulations, and relevant laws.
Actively promote and support food safety and product quality programs (GMPs, HACCP, quality and sanitation standards), collaborating with the Quality Assurance team, plant management, operations, and employees, including conducting compliance audits.,Supervise and provide strong leadership, direction, support, training, and development for a team of production supervisors. Oversee instruction, implementation, and enforcement of Saputo, operations, and employee standards.,Monitor systems to ensure protein and solid targets are maintained.,Ensure proper standard operating procedures (SOPs) are in place and followed for production efficiency, product quality, employee safety, and state and federal guidelines.,Maintain records of membrane performance and coordinate with department and plant managers for membrane changes.,Keep membrane maps up to date.,Responsible for maintaining permeate solids above 18%.,Monitor and improve team safety, finished product quality, and environment by maintaining equipment and facilities in sanitary condition, meeting regulatory, customer, and company standards, in collaboration with plant sanitation and Quality Assurance.,Lead problem-solving efforts through participation in team meetings and on-the-floor leadership to implement changes using continuous improvement methods and tools.
Bachelor's Degree in Dairy Science, Food Science, or a related field, combined with one to three years of supervisory experience in a food production environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
