Operations Production/QA Intern - Summer 2026

Description

This internship at Saputo involves supervising workers and equipment in the production area, applying relevant education and experience in production methods. Key responsibilities include monitoring and maintaining departmental costs, quality, and environmental standards, ensuring daily production targets are met efficiently, and overseeing proper machinery and process setups. The intern will also be responsible for adhering to safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and sanitation policies, communicating effectively with all levels of staff, actively participating in safety programs, and completing essential operational and HR-related paperwork.

What We're Looking For

Effectively monitor and maintain cost, quality, and environment of a department.,Directly supervise activities of department employees.,Focus on plant goals to attain expected production volume on a daily basis while controlling costs.,Ensure proper set-up and operation of the process, to include machinery, computers, and product schedule.,Ensure that safety, good manufacturing processes (GMPs), and sanitation policies and procedures are met.,Communicate and interact effectively with department employees, the Plant Manager, support services, and all levels of management.,Participate and take ownership of assigned plant safety programs.,Complete all assigned paperwork, including production/packaging records, sanitation lists, schedules, accident reports, investigations, and any other paperwork deemed necessary with respect to HR guidelines.

Ideal Candidate

Currently pursuing a degree with education related to production methods and processes.

Minimum Education

Currently pursuing a relevant degree (e.g., Bachelor's or Associate's in Operations, Supply Chain, Food Science, Engineering, or a related technical field).
