This opportunity at RBC Capital Markets – RBC Community Investments involves managing a portfolio of real estate assets invested through affordable housing and historic tax credit programs. The primary goal is to ensure the continuous delivery of tax credit benefits and passive losses by assessing project risks, managing equity disbursements, analyzing performance data, and resolving financial and compliance issues. The role also includes conducting property inspections, maintaining accurate records, and developing relationships with various industry stakeholders.
Assess project and partnership risk factors related to LIHTC provisions and partnership terms.,Calculate annual tax credit amounts and first-year credit delivery.,Manage equity disbursement for the assigned portfolio.,Expedite financial and operational information from lower-tier partnerships.,Oversee projects by analyzing performance data.,Complete detailed 'workout' analyses and prepare Risk Management and Loss Mitigation Plans.,Communicate risks and develop mitigation plans.,Recommend strategies to resolve financial, real estate/LIHTC compliance, and ownership issues.,Complete annual property inspections.,Initiate communication with General Partners for timely tax returns and audits.,Review annual operating budgets for properties.,Communicate project risks to leadership and develop action plans.,Assist with asset disposition.,Participate in team initiatives.,Maintain thorough and up-to-date records and document management.,Maintain familiarity with regional and local economic and demographic trends.,Develop and maintain relationships with General Partners, management agents, lenders, investors, and housing agencies.
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting or Real Estate.,Experience in affordable housing, tax credit syndication, transaction processing, property/partnership-level accounting, real estate underwriting and/or financial modeling.,Strong interest in real estate investment and/or affordable housing.,Proficiency in MS-Outlook and MS-Office applications.,Excellent verbal and written communication skills.,Prior experience as a LIHTC Asset Manager is highly preferred.
