Description

This role involves ensuring the accuracy and compliance of mortgage documentation in a paperless environment. The officer will review, validate, and approve mortgage conditions, including various income types, down payments, title searches, and company/condominium documentation. Responsibilities also include fraud detection, adherence to bank protocols, and providing high-value customer service to referral sources in a fast-paced environment. The role supports Underwriters and Business Development Managers in fulfilling conditions and aims to improve efficiencies within processes.

What We're Looking For

Reviewing, validating, and approving conditions for mortgage files (Income Types, Down Payment, Title Searches, Credit Bureaus, Purchase documents, Company Documentation, Condominium Documentation).,Accountability for fraud detection and ensuring satisfactory inspection and audit.,Reviewing and signing off on applicable Solicitor conditions.,Ensuring adherence to bank protocols, procedures, regulatory, and AML requirements.,Working effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with tight timelines.,Driving the application pipeline through consistent follow-up on approved files.,Maintaining a 24-hour turnaround time for communication touchpoints.,Crafting efficiencies and providing alternative document solutions within protocol.,Supporting Underwriters and Business Development Managers through collaborative condition fulfillment.,Business administration diploma or comparable work experience.,Minimum 2 years mortgage documentation review experience.,Understanding of Alt-A lending practices is an asset.,Demonstrated understanding of mortgage lending guidelines, compliance, regulatory, and AML requirements around fraud detection.,Proven experience in reviewing conditions for mortgage files.,Knowledge of the Mortgage life cycle for conventional residential mortgages.,Strong analytical competence and attention to detail.,Excellent interpersonal and organization skills with the ability to prioritize.,Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively; both written and verbal.

Ideal Candidate

Business administration diploma or comparable work experience.,Minimum 2 years mortgage documentation review experience.,Understanding of Alt-A lending practices is an asset.,Demonstrated understanding of mortgage lending guidelines, compliance, regulatory, and AML requirements around fraud detection.,Proven experience in reviewing conditions for mortgage files (Income, Down Payment, Title Searches, Credit Bureaus, Purchase documents, company and condominium documentation).,Knowledge of Mortgage life cycle for conventional residential mortgages.
