Marketing Director, Growth and Engagement (Avion Rewards)

This role at RBC's Avion Rewards focuses on driving member growth and engagement for one of Canada's largest loyalty ecosystems. The Director will lead marketing strategies for Travel, Member Redemption, and Member Acquisition teams, utilizing data-driven approaches, optimized digital experiences, and compelling communications. Key objectives include increasing travel bookings, maximizing member value through redemptions, and expanding the Avion member base.

What We're Looking For

Lead annual marketing strategy development for the Avion Rewards portfolio (acquisition, engagement, member rewards, and travel).,Develop and execute integrated campaign strategies that maximize acquisition and engagement through systematic testing, conversion rate optimization, and data-driven processes, while providing strategic direction on campaign approaches, messaging, and channel selection.,Create and execute go-to-market plans for new product launches and features, overseeing content strategy and brand communications across digital platforms to drive awareness, acquisition, education, and member engagement.,Develop strong working relationships with business stakeholders, establishing marketing expertise and leadership within the cross functional working teams.,Partner with Brand, Business, Digital Marketing, CRM, Product, Technology, and Analytics teams to ensure strategic alignment, cohesive brand experiences, and seamless execution across all touchpoints.,Establish comprehensive reporting frameworks and use analytics insights to track marketing performance, ROI, and KPIs, optimize marketing investments, and inform strategic decisions.,Champion a test-and-learn culture across acquisition and retention initiatives, leveraging cross-industry engagement concepts to drive innovation and foster continuous improvement through shared learnings.,Lead a high-performing marketing team through strategic goal setting, coaching, and development while fostering accountability, innovation, and collaboration to maximize team effectiveness.

Ideal Candidate

10+ years of progressive marketing experience with expertise across all marketing disciplines, particularly in growth marketing, digital/acquisition, and brand building for loyalty programs, retail, CPG, or consumer-facing brands.,Strong background in data-driven marketing with expertise in analytics, testing methodologies, and delivering ROI-centric results.,Proven track record leading go-to-market strategies for product launches, new feature rollouts, and integrated campaign management.,Ability to manage cross-functional projects in matrixed organizations and influence stakeholders at all levels through exceptional communication, storytelling, and collaborative leadership.,Proven experience leading and developing high-performing marketing teams through coaching, accountability, and fostering a culture of innovation.,Nice to Have: Experience in financial services or credit card marketing.,Nice to Have: Background in loyalty programs or points-based rewards ecosystems.,Nice to Have: Active personal participation in major loyalty programs demonstrating first-hand understanding of member experience (e.g., Scene+, PC Optimum, Triangle, Air Miles, Aeroplan, Starbucks, Tim Hortons etc.).

Special Commitments
