Managing Director, Head of Project and Infrastructure Finance, Corporate Client Group

Description

This role involves leading a national team focused on structuring, delivering, and managing project finance and public-private partnership (PPP) transactions, contributing to Corporate Client Group (CCG) objectives. The position requires extensive experience in market, leadership, business development, financial modelling, and structuring to drive growth, especially in energy transition and other emerging opportunities.

What We're Looking For

Lead a national team of Project Finance and PPP professionals to drive revenue growth and deliver financing solutions.

Drive business growth in PPP, renewable energy, data centers, fiber, and other segments by directing deal teams in pitching, structuring, delivering, documenting, and closing syndicated and bilateral senior debt transactions, including due diligence and credit submissions.

Build and maintain collaborative relationships with RBC partners (Group Risk Management, Capital Markets, Investment Banking).

Provide market and industry analysis to support CCG guidance on optimal loan structures.

Assess risk and return profiles for PIF transactions to inform client strategies.

Develop and maintain a business pipeline to win new business and close loan transactions.

Support and direct the management and monitoring of the PIF loan portfolio, including timely reporting and recommendations for action.

Provide senior-level oversight on PIF credit submissions to ensure high credit quality and analysis.

Ideal Candidate

Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics or a related field (Must-have).

10+ years of work experience in Project and PPP financing, including senior debt credit knowledge, and experience in leading renewable energy transactions (Must-have).

Extensive experience in modeling and interpreting financial sensitivity and scenario worksheets (Must-have).

Proven business development and negotiation skills (Must-have).

Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks while meeting time-sensitive deadlines (Must-have).

Effective communication, interpersonal, and client relationship skills, and ability to work effectively within a team environment (Must-have).

Demonstrated coaching and leadership skills (Must-have).

Strong computer literacy with emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel (Must-have).

MBA, CPA, CFA or other relevant professional designation (Nice-to-have).

Minimum Education

Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics or a related field (required); MBA, CPA, CFA or other relevant professional designation (preferred)
