The Manager, Product Control role at RBC involves providing analytical support to Capital Markets Derivative portfolios. Key responsibilities include daily mark-to-market valuation, P&L reconciliation, and generating risk/position reports in a timely and accurate manner. This role also serves as a primary contact for various internal departments to facilitate trading activities.
Responsibilities include daily P&L production, month-end reporting and reconciliation, acting as the main point of contact for Front Office queries, performing daily valuations and analyzing MTM movements, monitoring operational and risk management issues, preparing position reports, informing management of irregularities, providing P&L analysis commentary, communicating daily/MTD/YTD results, ensuring daily sign-off from Front Office, preparing monthly accounting entries, supporting statutory and regulatory reporting, collaborating with the Product Control team, identifying process improvement opportunities, performing PNL and Balance Sheet reconciliations, maintaining knowledge of Front Office systems, testing new system updates, providing audit information, and understanding RBC operations. Must-haves include 2+ years of experience in a Capital Markets environment, excellent MS Excel skills, a very good understanding of derivatives products, strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills, ability to work effectively under pressure, advanced understanding of procedures and operational controls related to trading systems and workflows, and a strong ability to work independently.
Canadian Securities Course, Derivative Fundamental Course, CFA Candidates or Charter holders (Nice-to-have).
