Manager, Personal Banking Financial Control

Description

This strategic role within the Personal Banking Financial Control team serves as a 'second line of defense' for RBC. The manager will provide accounting advisory for new products, implement effective processes, and ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial information for Personal Banking, with a focus on Cards and Loyalty, Distribution, and Operations. Key responsibilities include reviewing financial disclosures, establishing financial infrastructure, monitoring controls, supporting data strategy, and process transformation initiatives.

What We're Looking For

Support assessing accounting implications of new initiatives.,Support the implementation of new accounting policies.,Perform initial review of quarterly financial disclosures and related variance analysis.,Investigate financial results abnormalities.,Assess financial risk and establish proper infrastructure & processes.,Monitor the Financial Control environment by reviewing Standard of Documentation (SOD) and following up on queries.,Support SOX controls as required.,Support data strategy projects and ad hoc initiatives to enhance data transparency and accuracy.,Identify opportunities to automate & streamline processes and assist business with process implementation.,Participate in ad-hoc projects, including accounting policy implementation and rectifying SOX deficiencies.

Ideal Candidate

CPA or equivalent completed or in progress.,4+ years working experience, ideally for financial institutions.,Strong IFRS working knowledge.,Knowledge of retail banking products or willingness and interest in developing that knowledge.,Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and obtain buy-ins from multiple stakeholders.,Financial and analytical skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet multiple deliverables within tight timelines.,Excellent Excel skills and presentation skills.,Nice-to-have: Knowledge of the RBC financial systems.
