The Manager II, Governance & Control role at TD Bank is a leadership position within the Business Banking Governance & Control (BBG&C) team. This team acts as the first line of defense in risk management, ensuring appropriate control frameworks are implemented and compliance with regulations and business processes is maintained. The manager will lead a team, provide oversight and challenge to Business Banking on operational risks, assess risks and controls, and ensure adherence to internal and regulatory requirements. This role also involves acting as a subject matter expert, driving program improvements, building relationships with stakeholders, and staying current on industry trends.

What We're Looking For

Lead and manage various governance activities for Business Banking to ensure operational risks are considered, managed, and mitigated within risk appetite.,Review and assess adherence to internal (risk management, oversight function, audit) and regulatory requirements.,Provide oversight and independent challenge to Business Banking through review, inquiry, discussion, issue identification, and recommending actions to senior management.,Work with Business Banking, second- and third-line risk and control partners to assess risks and controls.,Provide information, reporting, and support for managing operational and compliance risks.,Act as a subject matter expert in governance and control and advise business stakeholders on risk programs (e.g., RCSA), control, and process design.,Lead a team of risk professionals.,Ensure governance and control programs/business processes are well designed and operating effectively.,Understand end-to-end processes and integrate best practices for continuous improvement.,Partner with stakeholders to drive governance and control program changes and improvements.,Provide regular communication on program compliance, issues, changes, and initiatives.,Build and maintain effective relationships with business and functional stakeholders.,Stay updated on industry and business developments and trends.,Evolve risk capabilities and business knowledge.,Contribute to team development by sharing knowledge and experiences.,Champion respect, inclusion and diversity.

Ideal Candidate

Minimum 8+ years related experience,Risk Program experience (Issue Management, RCSA, ORE etc) and/or previous Audit, 1st Line Controls Testing experience is an asset,1B risk and control experience,Previous people management experience is an asset,Ability to work independently and collaboratively,Proficient knowledge of governance, risk and control procedures, strategies & tactics,Effective time management, multi-tasking and organizational skills,Business or finance degree,Certification(s) relating to Risk or Audit e.g., CRM, CISA, CIA, CPA, CA or international equivalent is an asset
