Description

This role involves acting as a key decision-maker for agricultural and agri-food financing within the National Bank of Canada. The Manager will analyze, authorize, or recommend agricultural credit files, collaborate with business lines, support account managers, monitor loan portfolios, implement quality control strategies, and participate in credit committees to ensure strategic credit outcomes and compliance. It's a leadership role focused on agricultural and commercial finance, requiring strong financial and credit analysis expertise to grow high-potential client portfolios.

What We're Looking For

Analyze, authorize, or recommend agricultural and agri‑food credit files, respecting risk appetite and policies.,Collaborate with business lines to provide quick responses to financing requests.,Support account managers as an advisor and coach in structuring credit.,Monitor loan portfolios and proactively recommend improvements.,Identify and implement quality control strategies to strengthen portfolio integrity.,Participate in credit committees and various initiatives.,Ensure compliance with policies and act as a change champion to improve tools and processes.,Ability to make autonomous credit decisions under pressure.,Proven leadership in credit strategy and change management.,Experience in portfolio management and risk monitoring.,Knowledge of business banking products.,Demonstrated analytical and negotiation skills.,Collaboration, adaptability, and effectiveness within diverse teams and stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate

Bachelor's degree in agronomy, agroeconomics, or business administration.,At least 7 years of relevant experience.,Expertise in agricultural and commercial finance.,Professional agronomist designation is an asset.
