This role involves supervising maintenance employees on night shifts to ensure efficient delivery of maintenance services and support for a 24/7 production operation. Key responsibilities include planning work, resolving issues, and collaborating with management to improve safety, production quality, equipment reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness. The supervisor will also manage maintenance and capital projects, utilizing mechanical and electrical expertise to maintain systems and implement corrective actions based on performance indicators.
Supervise maintenance employees on assigned shifts.,Plan, assign, and direct work.,Address product and employee complaints, resolve problems.,Ensure maintenance services and production support in a 24/7 operation.,Collaborate with plant engineer, maintenance manager, and facility management.,Supervise both maintenance and capital projects.,Utilize mechanical and electrical expertise to maintain production systems, utilities, buildings, and grounds.,Utilize a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for preventative maintenance.,Ensure utilities (refrigeration, electrical, steam, compressed air) are in proper working order.,Implement corrective actions from key maintenance performance indicators.,Remain current with industry regulations and codes.,Ensure corporate policies and standards are followed.,Complete paperwork (maintenance records, incident reports, investigations).,Maintain technical documentation (PLCs, instrumentation, equipment, SOPs, PMs, inventory/parts purchasing).,Monitor and enforce policies, plant rules, and programs (safety, food safety, regulatory).,Manage employees (selection, retention, development, disciplinary action, performance management).,Evaluate maintenance personnel skills and assist with training programs.,Adhere to Saputo code of ethics and values.
Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.,Minimum five (5) years industrial maintenance experience within Dairy, Food, and/or Beverage industry required.,Previous supervisory experience required.,Working knowledge of boilers, refrigeration, PLCs, electrical, cooling towers, ammonia compressors, and packaging equipment.,Skills in electronics, instrumentation, and electrical systems and troubleshooting.,Ability to read electrical schematics and understand ladder logic.,Ability to calculate basic mathematical equations and formulas.,Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).,Experience leading and following Safety/Security Policies and Procedures.,Ability to follow all Sanitation and Quality Policies and Procedures.,Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Maintenance Planning software (SAP preferred).,Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.,Ability to understand cost containment and budgetary principles.
