The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee daily maintenance operations and personnel, including scheduling, task assignment, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and training. This role involves active participation in plant improvement initiatives, ensuring all repairs meet industry standards, developing maintenance staff, advising management on equipment issues, and maintaining utility systems. The supervisor will also troubleshoot breakdowns, coordinate downtime, manage technical documentation, monitor costs, ensure a safe work environment, and assist the Maintenance Manager in achieving departmental goals.
Supervision of day-to-day maintenance functions and personnel,Scheduling of labor to meet plant and equipment requirements,Assigning responsibilities and tasks to maintenance personnel,Provide support by troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, training, and information sharing,Actively participate with Operations in plant improvement initiatives,Ensure all mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic and structural repair and improvements are performed to industry and Saputo standards,Evaluate Maintenance personnel skills and abilities and establish a training program,Coach and develop maintenance employees for continuous improvement,Advise the Maintenance Manager, Plant Manager, Department Managers and Supervisors on equipment issues,Ensure that all utilities (refrigeration, electrical, steam, compressed air systems, etc.) are in proper working order,Troubleshoot machinery and process systems in the event of breakdowns,Coordinate with production supervision downtime windows for PM and repair work,Maintain current technical documentation (PLC's, instrumentation, equipment, blueprints, manuals, SOPs, maintenance procedures, preventative maintenance, inventory control, parts purchasing),Maintain awareness and monitor costs relative to the maintenance operation,Monitor the work area to ensure a safe environment and adherence to plant safety rules,Assist the Maintenance Manager in accomplishing department goals
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field, preferred, or equivalent experience,Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in industrial automation,Supervision experience required,Dairy, Food, and/or Beverage industry experience preferred,Working knowledge of refrigeration, PLCs, HMI's, electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics and packaging equipment,Programming experience, required,Ability to troubleshoot and analyze mechanical/electrical/process control system functions,Ability to lead, coach and train the Maintenance team,Ability to evaluate production processes,Ability to work flexible hours, primarily 1st shift hours. Weekends as needed.
