Description

The Maintenance, Licensed Electrician at Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P. is responsible for installing and maintaining electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, and automation systems within a dairy operation. This hands-on role involves working directly with equipment and operators on the production floor, as well as rebuilding and repairing in the shop.

What We're Looking For

Repair and maintenance of filling machines, pasteurizing process systems, packaging systems, and conveyers common to a dairy operation.,Carry out electrical equipment modifications.,Complete preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.,Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment in breakdown situations to ensure production efficiencies are achieved.,Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and manuals to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.,Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.,Maintain constant communication with plant personnel.,Collaborate and support peer groups, other departments, and the facility as a whole.,Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with corporate and regulatory quality and sanitation requirements.,Comply with and ensure all work is performed safely while following OH&S, WSIB, and company policies and procedures.,Perform other duties as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager.

Ideal Candidate

Must hold a 442A Industrial Electrician Certificate of Qualification.,Must provide a Skilled Trades Ontario Red Seal Certification of Qualification and/or an Interprovincial Red Seal Endorsement Certificate.,Minimum 3 years of electro-mechanical experience in an industrial/manufacturing setting and PLC.,Minimum 1 year of experience related to the food industry, preferably dairy, or high-speed process equipment or packaging experience.,Demonstrates solid Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), understanding and compliance; knowledge of Food Safety Systems would be an asset.,Extensive experience with electromechanical preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of high-speed automated packaging equipment.,Strong understanding of all applicable Electrical – Mechanical – Safety Provincial Codes.,Instrumental knowledge with pressure, temperature, flow controls, calibrations, and programming.,Advanced electromechanical and technical aptitude.,Knowledge and experience with PLC controls and programming systems; Allen Bradley an asset.,Ability to work in a highly automated environment; PC Windows based O/S experience an asset.,High level of self-motivation and initiative, and results-oriented, with excellent troubleshooting skills.,Strong analytical skills.,Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.,Highly motivated, results-oriented, team player.,Dependable with a good attendance and safety record.

Work Hours

Midnight 8-hour shifts, 11pm-7:30am, Sunday to Thursday
