Description

KPMG Law is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant for a 12-month contract. The role involves supporting lawyers and teams with a mix of administrative and legal tasks. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, organized, and possess a solid understanding of legal processes, contributing to a client-first culture in a collaborative environment.

What We're Looking For

Handle administrative tasks including travel bookings, expense processing, and invoice payments.

Organize and schedule meetings, examinations, and logistics.

Manage fax and mail communications (sending, receiving, scanning, tracking, distribution).

Liaise with other teams and vendors for tasks like copying and printing, including drafting instructions and quality review.

Organize and maintain active files.

Prepare, process, edit, and proofread various documents (forms, correspondence, presentations).

Draft standard legal documents (cover letters, affidavits of service).

Prepare legal document packages and forms for court filings, client submissions, and trials.

File and serve documents electronically.

Diarize court and other deadlines.

Send and receive documents to clients, courts, and counsel using secure file-sharing platforms.

Provide general office support and perform other assigned duties.

Minimum 2 years' experience as a Legal Assistant or similar role.

Ideal Candidate

College Certificate or Diploma, or equivalent combination of experience.

Minimum 2 years' experience as a Legal Assistant or similar role.

Experience in working with Federal and Ontario Courts is an asset.
