Description

Lead a team focused on optimizing performance and memory for Unreal projects within Fortnite, guiding developers to create innovative features that enhance the player experience. This role involves problem-solving, driving tool improvements, and ensuring long-term sustainability of game and engine subsystems.

What We're Looking For

Lead a team of 4-6 programmers solving CPU performance and memory bottlenecks,Drive improvements to tools and analytics for content creators to self-service performance needs,Build and mentor the team through coaching, unblocking obstacles, and code review,Work closely with production and technical leadership to balance new features with long-term sustainability,Build relationships with adjacent teams (art, gameplay, platform tech, automation),Establish workflows to validate performance improvements and prevent regressions across different game and engine subsystems and platforms

Ideal Candidate

Proven track record of driving technical leadership of high performing programming teams

Hard Skills

C++ skills
software programming principles
experience profiling and optimizing in game development
experience implementing and debugging large, robust systems on game or game engine technology
Unreal Engine and console development experience (preferred)

Soft Skills

Strong interpersonal skills
ability to work across teams to understand technical and non-technical needs
desire and willingness to jump into the weeds and do programming work as needed to deliver strategic outcomes
