Description

The Lab Coordinator at Saputo is responsible for accurately entering chemistry data for dairy fluids and cheese into SAP, ensuring the precision of all laboratory paperwork, and generating quality-related reports. This role involves assisting other lab technicians and departments to support the production of quality products and process control monitoring, while strictly adhering to safety, GMP, and food safety policies.

What We're Looking For

Ability to pull production samples and test for accurate daily inventory results,Enter and verify accurate data results in SAP for production inventory, milk/whey products, finished products, and in-process samples,Review and correct daily Cheese in-process testing results,Coordinate and prep samples for bake evaluations (identifying, weighing, paperwork),Set-up, operate, maintain, clean, and calibrate all lab equipment (oven, pH meter, FT1, CEM, chloride analyzer),Follow all necessary safety precautions,Operate a personal computer and systems computer for data input (MS Word, Excel, SAP),Communicate results to proper individuals in a timely, confidential, and professional manner,Support monthly/quarterly/annual Food Safety programs (GMP audits, Glass & Brittle Plastic audits, Handwash Station inspections, Locker Room inspections),Assist with coordination and completion of Quarterly Calibrations,Assist with completion of outgoing customer COA’s,Assist in receipt, review, and release of all incoming ingredient COA’s,Assist with product reclaim,Cover QA Coordinator tasks when needed,Ability to work independently with limited direction and supervision,Adhere to all safety, GMP, and food safety policies and procedures

Ideal Candidate

Working knowledge of computer software applications (MS Word, Excel, SAP mainframe),Ability to lift and/or move up to 45lbs occasionally,Reliable and available to work any shift, overtime, and holidays,Good interpersonal communication skills with commitment to confidentiality,Self-motivated and multi-tasker who can solve analytical problems,Knowledge/proficiency with laboratory related equipment, test procedures, microbiology (preferred),Associate's degree in Dairy Science, Food Science or a related field; minimum of 1-3 years of lab experience desired; or equivalent combination of education and experience.,Prior experience with SAP, MS Word/Excel, Aseptic sampling, Swabbing, Equipment calibrations, Sensory evaluation of product, Techniques of microbial analysis (plating, swabbing, reading, etc.), Shelf life evaluations and using equipment like FT-1, Ph Meter and Food scan (highly desired)
