Description

This role within RBC Capital Markets' Business & Client Services group involves providing key operational support for investment banking. The analyst specializes in conducting Know Your Client (KYC) due diligence reviews for prospective and existing clients, ensuring compliance with Canadian and US KYC laws and regulations. Key responsibilities include assessing CDD trigger requirements, identifying and escalating high-risk concerns, performing sanctions screening, and managing a pipeline of client requests. The role requires strong organizational skills, multi-tasking abilities, effective communication, and teamwork.

What We're Looking For

Support timely onboarding and maintenance for prospect and existing clients while maintaining data integrity.,Perform preliminary due diligence assessments, collect updated KYC information, and conduct sanctions screening.,Identify and escalate risk factors (e.g., high-risk industries/client types) for Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD).,Fulfill OTC derivative requirements related to trade reporting and swap execution rules.,Conduct open-source and paid-source due diligence searches for onboarding.,Manage a pipeline of requests, continuously updating workflow for operational efficiency.,Prioritize requests by business deadlines and demonstrate flexibility for urgent tasks.,Maintain strong organizational skills by managing correspondence, updating trackers, and processing updates in KYC lifecycle systems.,Provide subject matter expertise on CDD requirements to internal stakeholders and clients.,Communicate case statuses regularly and respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours.,Engage collaboratively with Business and Compliance partners to address operational issues.,Partner with cross-regional KYC Onboarding teams for continuous time zone coverage.,Work as part of a team to meet targets and improve knowledge by updating training materials.,Participate in intra-day and/or after-hours system testing for technology enhancements.,Subscribe to ad-hoc projects while maintaining high productivity levels.

Ideal Candidate

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or other relevant field.,Minimum 2 years of experience in KYC/AML, due diligence, or operationally related roles within the banking sector.,Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.,Drive and ambition to achieve strong performance results.,Ability to prioritize tasks independently based on urgency, importance, and impact.,Operational mindset for working in a queue-based environment with a focus on delivering results.,Knowledge of various regional regulatory requirements (e.g., CIRO, OSFI, PCMLTFR, FINTRAC, CFTC, SEC, NFA) and/or experience with regulatory or rule-based environments.,Proficiency in information analysis across internal and external systems.,Critical thinking with problem-solving skills.,Excellent organizational skills and strong time management skills.,Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Outlook, and collaborative communication tools.,Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a client-first attitude.,Nice-to-Have: Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) designation.,Nice-to-Have: Previous Capital Markets work experience or understanding of investment banking products.,Nice-to-Have: Operations or Technology degree, background, or experience.,Nice-to-Have: Experience with KYC lifecycle tools such as Fenergo and third-party data providers like Encompass, ISDA Amend, D&B, and LSEG Data & Analytics.
