Junior Trader - Fixed Income Business Development

Description

This role involves supporting Financial Advisors (FAs) in constructing fixed income portfolios for clients within RBC Wealth Management. Key responsibilities include marketing fixed income securities through various communication channels, educating FAs on market conditions and product strategies, generating trade ideas, and collaborating with internal teams to provide comprehensive fixed income solutions. The position also requires providing backup for team members and participating in special projects.

What We're Looking For

Produce taxable and tax-exempt trade ideas, bond ladders, and swap opportunities based on current market conditions.,Develop and distribute marketing and educational materials for fixed income securities.,Facilitate account reviews to help FAs generate ideas for client portfolios.,Visit branch offices in-person and virtually to educate FAs on fixed income products and capabilities.,Communicate opportunities for FAs to utilize the team and tools for recruiting fixed income clients and assets.,Initiate input and review of assets "held away" to provide a holistic portfolio view.,Work closely with various team members, trading desks, and Fixed Income Strategies to obtain market insight and develop trade ideas.,Partner with trading desks and Fixed Income Strategies to deliver a cohesive message on fixed income opportunities.,Provide back-up for other team members and share knowledge.,Jump in as daily business needs arise, including special projects.

Ideal Candidate

Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Business, or a related field.,2+ years of experience in financial services.,Strong ability to persuade, motivate, and market product through e-mail, voice, and in-person.,Robust organizational and time management skills.,Ability to multi-task and work independently in a dynamic client-oriented environment.,Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.,Experience working in fixed income, trading, sales, or strategies (Nice-to-have).,FINRA Series 7 and 52 licenses, and if necessary, 63 license, or willing to acquire licenses within 3 months (Nice-to-have).
