The IT Solutions Designer will join the Payments Services Technology Team to support the US ACH Payment system, contributing to both 'Change the Bank' and 'Run the Bank' initiatives by delivering timely solutions. The role demands a strategic, creative, and forward-thinking individual capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment. It involves supporting applications on virtual and cloud-based systems and working with a variety of technologies to deliver effective and efficient solutions.
Review technical deliverables for quality and adherence, identifying gaps or redesign needs.
Collaborate with Technology Project Manager, Business Analysts/Systems Analysts, and team members to define metrics and performance goals.
Comply with enterprise technology delivery practices, standards, and project management disciplines.
Deliver solutions that meet project milestones, budget, and corporate quality/security standards.
Identify opportunities for cost minimization and recommend/deliver strategic solutions.
Conduct code reviews for quality, standards compliance, reusability, and ease of maintenance.
Support knowledge management processes and ensure knowledge is codified and managed.
Ensure design leverages reusable components and has traceability to business requirements.
Identify and address application, data, cross-capability, and cross-release issues.
Provide technical support for escalated incidents/outages.
Continuously enhance knowledge in own area, keeping current with leading-edge technologies and business expertise.
Prioritize and manage workload to deliver quality results and meet timelines.
Support a positive work environment and ensure timely communication of issues.
Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance productivity and operational efficiency.
Establish effective relationships with business and technology partners.
Participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business units.
Proven experience supporting applications hosted on virtual and cloud-based systems.
Experience working with Operating Systems (Microsoft Windows, Linux), Active Directory Administration, MS SQL Server, MS Exchange Server, Networking, TCP/IP, DNS, Load balancing, Shell Scripting (e.g. Bash, PowerShell, etc.), Backup and Recovery operations (e.g. TSM, Commvault), Log Analysis and Performance Monitoring (e.g. Splunk, Dynatrace), Collaboration Tools (e.g. SharePoint, JIRA, Confluence).
Additional experience with File Transfer Platforms, Cloud and Distributed Computing (Azure), Middleware (IBM WebSphere, MQ), Configuration Management (Puppet), Enterprise Federation/Single Sign-On (PingFederate) and APIs are a plus.
