This role involves representing CIBC Global Asset Management’s (GAM) investment perspectives holistically across various communication channels and media. The strategist will communicate GAM's top-down "House View" and integrate investment insights from all GAM teams into a unified message and narrative, primarily to external client audiences and media.
Act as a principal client-facing investment representative, delivering economic, market, and portfolio views.,Create written content like Agile Market Commentaries, regular Market Commentaries, customized Channel Commentary, and ad hoc research papers.,Collaborate with Chief Investment Officers, Client Portfolio Managers, and Portfolio Managers to integrate asset class views.,Make regular presentations to clients on global economic and financial trends and GAM's House View.,Assist Group Chief Investment Officers in linking GAM Economic & Market View across investment teams.,Serve as a principal external investment representative to industry and media, including frequent presentations and commentary on financial news platforms.,Contribute to the GAM brand story through the Marketing & Communications Team.,Lead educational initiatives and training for partners, distribution teams, advisors, and clients.,Stay informed on competitor market and investment views and deliver compelling presentations.,Actively solicit client and advisor feedback on GAM’s views and collateral for continuous improvement.,Understand and implement business processes, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and manage multiple priorities.,Work collaboratively with all GAM members to provide distinctive investor solutions.,Embrace continuous improvement, exude integrity, and act in the best interests of investors.,Conduct business in accordance with high legal and ethical standards.,Strive for and instill "best-in-class" performance standards.
Undergraduate degree required; graduate degree in business, finance, and/or economics desired.,CFA and/or CIM designations required.,Designation by OSC as an Advising Representative is required.,15+ years of experience as a senior, externally-facing investment professional.,Significant experience in portfolio management and/or investment analysis with a proven track record.,Deep and holistic understanding of markets, investments, investment strategy, and portfolio management across various asset classes.,High impact, well-respected, and recognized leader in the asset management sector with a robust network.,Master high-impact communicator with significant experience communicating investment and portfolio strategy verbally and in writing.,Well-respected and known professional in Canada’s investment industry.,Sound awareness of risk and its business impact; makes informed, risk-aware decisions.,Understands all relevant CIBC policies, Mutual Fund Sales Practices, and regulatory legislation.
