Description

This role at Royal Bank of Canada involves acting as a primary contact for Capital Market Clients, correspondent banks, and RBCFG units. The Investigations Officer is responsible for delivering excellent customer service by resolving investigations and compensation claims that arise from settlements related to trading, trade finance, and other commercial/retail activities. The officer is expected to continually develop skills, operate effectively within a cross-functional team, and ensure the timely resolution of investigations, loss prevention, and risk mitigation.

What We're Looking For

Manage an investigation/compensation queue according to guidelines to meet departmental goals, applying knowledge of Treasury/Retail Operations procedures, methods, and systems to resolve designated items.,Maintain established caseload benchmarks through individual and team efforts without compromising work quality or effectiveness.,Apply knowledge of payment methods, terms and conditions, operating policies, rules, and regulations used by correspondents, clients, and agent banks in handling investigation cases.,Support the creation, updating, and maintenance of desk procedures.,Deliver high-quality, timely, and error-free service to clients and service partners.,Demonstrate a strong commitment to teamwork, open two-way communication, and good staff morale.

Ideal Candidate

University degree or College Diploma or any equivalent combination of qualifications and/or experience, preferably in Business, Finance, Accounting fields (Must-have).,Work experiences in wires payments, and/or banking/financial operations/trading activity role (Must-have).,Highly developed communication skills, strong leadership, organizational, decision making/problem solving skills, analytical/conceptual skills (Must-have).,Strong ability to exercise a high degree of judgement and negotiation (Must-have).,Strong understanding of banking and capital markets practices and activities (Must-have).,Adaptability in learning and using various systems and applications effectively (Must-have).,Flexible to cover holiday dates on team rotational basis and overtime when needed (Must-have).,Knowledge of Treasury/Retail Operations, its procedures, systems (primarily RIMMS, RATS, StorQM, Intellimatch, Intellitracs, Branch procedures RFX) (Nice-to-have).,Solid knowledge of international banking procedures and policies, industry standards and best working practices (Nice-to-have).,Knowledge and understanding of Nostro Standing orders and audit/SOX requirements (Nice-to-have).
