Description

This role involves leading the governance and control function for Residential Lending (RESL) by developing and implementing a strategic governance framework. The Head of Residential Lending Controls Management will partner with the business to manage audits and exams, and proactively address regulatory and governance issues. Key aspects include assessing risks, maintaining a strong risk management culture, driving enhancements to the control environment, and providing leadership and guidance to the team.

What We're Looking For

Provide people management leadership including hiring, goal setting, development, performance management, and compensation decisions.,Lead the 1A Governance & Control function for the US RESL organization, developing and implementing a governance strategy.,Oversee Governance & Control activities, assessing risks and recommending changes based on information from control function partners.,Collaborate with the business to respond to audits and exams, and develop strategies to manage regulatory and governance issues.,Maintain a culture of risk management and control aligned with risk appetite.,Assess the effectiveness of business governance and control programs.,Represent the business on Risk Management, Compliance, AML, Vendor Management, Regulatory, and Audit initiatives.,Stay informed on regulatory issues affecting business governance and control.,Support TD's enterprise-wide risk strategies and control function requirements.,Identify and manage issues for RESL, collaborating with LOBs and control partners.,Drive enhancements to the control environment, including process mapping, risk and control identification, and monitoring.,Contribute to understanding of governance and control requirements and emerging trends.,Act as the business representative for all audits.,Lead, implement, and/or conduct due diligence process reviews for potential risk areas.,Provide insight and guidance to the executive leadership team.,Ensure consistent, appropriate, and aligned functional and business-level communications.,Manage the overall team, providing leadership and guidance.

Ideal Candidate

Bachelor's degree preferred,10+ years of related experience,In-depth knowledge of relevant banking and regulatory rules and policies, specifically in Residential Lending,Significant experience with regulators and audit partners across a multi-disciplined business division,Strong business acumen and analytical capabilities with the ability to consolidate information into clear, concise analysis,Forward thinking and strategic thinking capabilities to support business strategy execution,Ability to influence and motivate others, including those without a direct reporting relationship,Ability to manage and influence effectively within a matrix environment,Ability to interact with all levels across the organization,Strong communicator, with excellent oral, written and presentation skills,Organizational awareness and the ability to balance the viewpoints of various stakeholders,Proven leadership skills; motivational, collaborative leader successful in developing, guiding and managing a professional team
