Governance & Control Specialist

Description

This role involves coordinating and executing SOX scoping, control rationalization, and testing strategies. The specialist will perform and oversee control testing, evaluate deficiencies, drive remediation plans, and facilitate risk discussions. They will also provide oversight to a team of control testers, identify process improvements, and offer advisory guidance on new initiatives.

What We're Looking For

Coordinate and execute annual SOX scoping, control rationalization, and testing strategies,Perform or oversee walkthroughs and control testing; evaluate deficiencies and determine severity (design vs. operating effectiveness),Drive remediation plans for control deficiencies, including root cause analysis and sustainable fixes,Facilitate risk and control discussions with business units, process owners, and senior stakeholders,Evaluate control effectiveness, identify gaps, and recommend enhancements aligned to risk appetite,Provide oversight and guidance to a team of control testers, reviewing work performed by junior team members and co-sourced providers,Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation,Provide advisory guidance on control implications of new initiatives

Ideal Candidate

Undergraduate degree preferred,7+ years of relevant experience,Experience in SOX, internal controls, audit, or risk management,Big 4 experience preferred,Experience leading SOX walkthroughs and testing cycles,Hands-on RCSA facilitation experience,Information security certification / accreditation a plus
