The Quality Assurance team at Epic Games is responsible for the testing process, risk management, and quality evaluation of all Epic products and functions, working in close collaboration with developers and production to ensure the best possible user experience. This role is for an experienced Quality Assurance Manager for the online team, who will play a key role in developing the quality strategy. You will guide quality for the Distribution team, partner with leads from other disciplines, and continuously innovate and improve QA processes. Lead, manage, and mentor a diverse Quality Assurance organization within the Distribution team, including functional testers, external partners, QA analysts, programmers, and senior test automation programmers, while supporting overall discipline development and effectively mentoring senior experts with deep technical and business expertise.,Assume responsibility for the Distribution team's quality strategy and quality signals, considering staffing constraints, Backend services, and distributable applications, ensuring QA involvement throughout the full development and delivery cycle using key performance indicators, metrics, and qualitative signals to assess product quality, test effectiveness, and delivery risks, and to foster continuous improvement.,Drive prioritization and execution in a dynamic operational model where Quality Assurance supports testing activities, delivery validation, and live support, balancing competing priorities, unplanned work, and external demands to prevent QA from slowing down teams, while maintaining appropriate quality standards in a low-risk tolerance environment.,Guide delivery readiness and ensure cross-team oversight, collaborating closely with programming teams, product teams, and stakeholders to determine test scope, delivery timing, and acceptable risk levels, and collaborating with QA managers across Epic to identify inter-product risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies.,Communicate clearly and effectively with teams and stakeholders by explaining priority changes, risk trade-offs, and delivery decisions to Quality Assurance teams, partner teams, and management.,Maintain technical and hands-on involvement when required, stepping in to support testing or deliveries during coverage gaps, and maintaining sufficient technical depth to credibly interact with QA programmers and developers.
Demonstrated senior experience in leading Quality Assurance teams of varied skills and levels, including technical and non-technical contributors, external partners, and senior QA experts, with a proven ability to mentor experienced individual contributors while providing clear direction and accountability.,Solid understanding of Backend services testing and delivery activities and distributable applications, including programming interfaces, services, and user-facing software, with a good understanding of risks and validation strategies specific to each context.,Excellent prioritization skills and strong operational judgment, particularly in understaffed, dynamic environments involving multiple stakeholders and a low-risk tolerance.,Experience in supporting delivery management activities, including making informed decisions regarding test scope, delivery readiness, and risk acceptance, as well as setting clear expectations with internal stakeholders and across teams.,Strong technical foundation in modern Quality Assurance practices, including test automation, continuous integration and continuous deployment, testability, and quality metrics, with the ability to contribute directly when required.,Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain priority changes, risks, and trade-offs to Quality Assurance teams, partner teams, and management.,Advanced proficiency in using quality metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to guide prioritization, anticipate risks, and foster continuous improvement of products, processes, and teams.
