The Forklift Operator is responsible for managing inbound and outbound product movements, including inspection, loading, unloading, and accurate inventory handling. This role ensures food safety, quality regulations, and proper documentation are maintained, while operating material handling equipment safely.
Perform trailer inspections for all inbound and outbound orders, ensuring proper securing and temperature requirements.
Load and unload products using Radio Frequency scanners, ensuring accuracy and completeness of paperwork.
Work closely with shift supervisor, quality control, and inventory control to address discrepancies.
Receive products from purchase orders or stock transfers, verifying case counts, code dates, pallet counts, and condition, noting any damages.
Ensure overall quality of outbound shipments, correct weight distribution, and compliance.
Put away received product, replenish pick locations, and pick full pallets for customer orders.
Complete daily Powered Industrial Truck Inspection and report concerns.
Understand and follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Saputo's food safety, quality programs, and regulatory requirements.
Report all potential quality, food safety, and workplace safety hazards.
Attend and participate in all required training, shift meetings, and committees.
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
Basic math knowledge.
Demonstrated work history.
Ability to work confidently in a fast-paced environment.
Able to meet physical demands (stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, lift up to 75 pounds).
Able to work in cold environments and around moving equipment.
Good visual acuity with ability to distinguish colors.
Able to operate material handling equipment.
Ability to work in warehouse environment (noise, cold temperatures, standing/walking/bending/stooping/climbing stairs, maneuvering around material handling equipment).
Physical lifting up to 75-lbs unassisted frequently.
Wearing personal protective equipment and following established procedures.
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Fine manipulation and hand dexterity, including ability to grip and squeeze; handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms.
2:00PM to 10:00PM, Must be able to work overtime on a daily and/or weekly basis.
Must be willing to work assigned schedule, including weekends and holidays, Requires wearing personal protective equipment
