Charles River Laboratories is seeking a Flexible Operational Technician to join a new department in Tranent, Scotland. This role offers the opportunity to gain diverse skills and experience across various operational areas, including Formulations and Necropsy, by supporting the entire technical operation. The successful candidate will perform a wide range of tasks and work with different teams daily.

What We're Looking For

Deploy to support peaks in operational workload across multiple functional departments.,Support formulating and dispensing test items for scientific studies.,Deliver essential care to animals, including husbandry duties.,Administer regulated procedures.,Document clinical signs and observed behaviors on relevant data systems.,Manage lab equipment and apparatus, including reporting faults and completing forms.,Prepare study files, label pots, vials, and assist with study setup.,Conduct quality control checks as required.,Carry out necropsy procedures.,Undertake relevant training across the division to support key functions.,Maintain required skills for flexible deployment.,Work comfortably with a wide range of colleagues and teams.,Work towards obtaining a home office license.,Commit to working an unpredictable work schedule (e.g., vehicle preparation, room cleans, rodent necropsy).,Maintain flexibility and adaptability in day-to-day responsibilities.

Ideal Candidate

Minimum of five National 5 grades or equivalent
