The Fit Technician / Pattern Maker will be responsible for designing and modifying patterns to create balanced and proportional garments that meet Laura Canada's standards. They will also provide accurate fit comments, pattern updates, and graded specifications to suppliers. This is a temporary position.
Create initial patterns according to the Designer’s sketch and Laura Canada standards.,Prepare the specification sheets.,Lead sample fitting sessions on live models.,Make the appropriate corrections and provide suppliers with a detailed report of improvements to be made from first fit stage to the pre-production stage.,Ensure that the required corrections have been made on the next fit samples.,Provide suppliers with final graded specs and final comments for bulk production.
Fashion Design Diploma or equivalent diploma in pattern making and garment techniques.,3-5 years experience as Pattern Maker and Fit Technician for ladies’ apparel.,A strong knowledge of garment construction, grading and industry standards.
