Description

The Financial Crime Risk Investigator II conducts investigations of moderate complexity for both internal and external financial crime cases. This role involves recommending actions for accounts, adjudicating cases, and potentially providing QA/mentorship. The investigator will apply knowledge of money laundering and terrorist financing to their work.

What We're Looking For

Conduct investigative analysis by collecting, assessing, and collating case file information for AML, Sanctions/ABAC & Financial Crime investigations.,Conduct data analysis, manipulation, and interpretation to identify patterns and anomalies.,Initiate investigations and/or respond to emerging AML and Sanctions/ABAC risks.,Assist with reviewing and investigating court orders (subpoenas) related to criminal actions.,Assist and coordinate investigations with various law enforcement agencies as delegated.,Prepare and deliver AML, Sanctions/ABAC & Financial Crime and/or fraud detection/loss prevention training or updates to Bank Employees or other agencies as assigned.,Lead workstreams by acting as a project lead for medium-scale projects/initiatives.,Exercise discretion in managing confidential correspondence and information, escalating issues where appropriate.,Conduct reporting and/or meaningful analysis, using results to draw conclusions and make recommendations.,Be knowledgeable of practices and procedures within own area and keep abreast of emerging trends.,Protect organizational interests by identifying and managing risks.,Maintain appropriate project records, databases, and information; report on project status.,Monitor service, productivity, and efficiency levels, implementing continuous improvements.,Acquire and apply expertise, providing guidance and direction to Analysts, Investigators, and others.,Identify, recommend, and execute standard practices.,Adhere to internal policies/procedures and applicable regulatory guidelines.,Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements.,Maintain a culture of risk management and control.,Participate fully as a member of the team, supporting a positive work environment.,Continuously enhance knowledge/expertise and participate in knowledge transfer.,Keep current on emerging trends/developments.,Participate in personal performance management and development activities.,Keep others informed about project status and day-to-day activities.,Contribute to the team's success by assisting others, providing training, coaching, and guidance.,Contribute to a fair, positive, and equitable environment.,Act as a brand champion for the business area/function and the bank.

Ideal Candidate

Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience.,3+ years experience.,Undergraduate degree preferred.,Prior AML (Anti-Money Laundering) investigations experience, within a financial institution or regulatory environment.,Strong knowledge of Suspicious Activity Reports, Bank Secrecy Act, and other relevant AML regulations.,Familiarity with current AML typologies and emerging financial crime trends in the banking sector.,Experience working in federal law enforcement or financial crime units.
