Financial Accountant
Description
The Financial Accountant will join the Financial Close Controller team at Bell Canada, playing a key role in transforming the financial results close function through centralization, optimization, and innovation. This position is crucial for managing Bell's performance and risk profile, ensuring accurate and timely financial results while balancing stakeholder needs for long-term business success. The role involves leveraging technology, including AI, to improve processes and provide insightful financial analysis for decision-making.
What We're Looking For
Support the transformation and optimization of the financial results close function.,Ensure accurate, complete, and timely financial results by partnering with business units, performing critical analysis, managing risks and provisions, supporting internal and external reporting, and preparing/approving month-end transactions.,Maintain a strong control environment and meet audit requirements.,Provide guidance on new transactions, projects, processes, and accounting standards.,Identify and implement process improvements, including leveraging AI-driven solutions, to increase efficiency and effectiveness.,Address gaps in information systems, data systems, and financial reporting tools.,Analyze and present financial information to support value-add decision-making.
Ideal Candidate
A Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, business/commerce, and/or previous financial reporting experience.,CPA designation (considered an asset).,2-3 years of experience in a similar accounting role.,Strong proficiency in MS applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).,Working knowledge of SAP-BI, SAP-FI, and associated accounting systems (valuable asset).,Experience in AI and Machine Learning (valuable asset).,Ability to support a culture of innovation; interest in upskilling in digital and technology trends; openness to learning new tools and ways of working.,Passion to understand operational business and its linkages to financial processes.,Attention to details, speed, and accuracy.,Excellent written and verbal communication skills.,Highly organized, with the ability to independently plan and execute multiple priorities and demonstrate calmness and composure in times of uncertainty and stress.,Ability to partner and build sound relationships to influence and engage with various cross-functional groups and management levels towards a common vision.,Ability to take initiative and ownership of issues and tasks by leading resolution.,Proven ability to work in a team.
