Description

This role is with Bell Canada's Financial Close Controller team, focusing on transforming financial reporting processes. The successful candidate will support the financial close function, ensuring accurate and timely results, providing guidance on accounting standards, identifying process improvements through technology, and analyzing financial information for decision-making. The position also involves supporting end-to-end accounting review cycles for Bell Business Market revenue contracts, including accounting implications, memo documentation, journal entries, account reconciliations, and SOX control documentation.

What We're Looking For

Support the transformation of the financial results close function through centralization and optimization.,Ensure accurate, complete, and timely financial results by partnering with business units, reviewing financial data, managing risks and provisions, and supporting internal/external reporting.,Prepare, review, and/or approve month-end transactional processes.,Support control environment and audit requirements.,Manage various special projects.,Provide guidance on new transactions, projects, processes, and accounting standards.,Identify and implement process improvements using technology for increased efficiency.,Address gaps in information systems, data systems, and financial reporting tools.,Analyze and present financial information for value-add decision-making.,Support end-to-end accounting review cycle for Bell Business Market revenue contracts (accounting implications, memo documentation, journal entries, account reconciliations, SOX control documentation).

Ideal Candidate

Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, business/commerce, and/or previous financial reporting experience.,CPA designation considered an asset.,2-3 years in a similar accounting role.,Strong proficiency in MS applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).,Working knowledge of SAP-BI, SAP-FI, and associated accounting systems (valuable asset).,Experience in AI and Machine Learning (valuable asset).,Ability to support a culture of innovation and upskill in digital/technology trends.,Passion to understand operational business and its linkages to financial processes.
