The Finance Manager is responsible for Valuation Controls, including Policies and Governance within the Product Control team at TD Securities. This role ensures accurate and timely reporting, maintains robust controls, and upholds governance standards for valuations. Key duties include providing insights and analysis on Fair Value results, collaborating with Front Office, IT, Risk, Finance, and other control functions, and serving as a primary contact for valuation-related governance activities.
Coordinate and assist with regular valuation committee meetings, ensuring effective oversight and documentation of valuation decisions.
Prepare and present reports on valuation matters to senior management, risk committees, and other stakeholders.
Ensure the Bank's fair value reporting and financial fair value disclosure align with various Valuation Policies.
Explain IPV variances and Valuation Adjustment results with concise commentaries.
Collaborate with auditors and regulators during valuation process reviews and examinations.
Provide training and guidance to valuation teams on governance standards and policy updates.
Monitor adherence to the valuation policy across relevant business units and conduct periodic reviews.
Support decision-making and offer informed opinions on policy exceptions, breaches, or unique scenarios.
Escalate, track, and address policy breaches or exceptions.
Lead, motivate, and develop relationships with internal and external business partners/stakeholders.
Support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation, and teamwork.
Actively enhance knowledge/expertise in own area and participate in knowledge transfer.
Serve as the primary point of contact for policy-related inquiries from internal teams, auditors, and regulators.
Facilitate training and communication regarding policy updates and valuation standards.
Encourage a culture of compliance and best practices.
Working knowledge of valuation techniques for various asset classes (e.g., equities, fixed income, derivatives, private assets).
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as IFRS, US GAAP, and relevant financial regulations.
Subject matter expert for valuation methodologies and policy updates.
