This role at Saputo involves the safe and efficient operation of production equipment, specifically gable-top carton filling and packaging machinery. Key duties include adhering to standard operating procedures, performing routine quality and seal integrity tests, setting up equipment and coders, identifying and reporting product issues, performing equipment adjustments, operating a lift truck, maintaining accurate production records, conducting equipment change-overs and clean-ups, managing environmental controls, and handling product reclaim and rework. The operator will also support audits, follow all occupational health and safety, GMP, and food safety regulations, engage in cross-training, maintain good housekeeping, and comply with company ethics and values.
Safe and efficient operation of production equipment, including gable-top carton filling and packaging equipment.,Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) without deviation.,Collect routine product samples and perform seal integrity testing.,Set-up and use appropriate gable-top cartons.,Set-up packaging coders and validate product codes.,Identify and effectively communicate out-of-specification product conditions.,Perform routine equipment adjustments.,Safe operation of a lift truck.,Accurately complete production records and documents.,Perform equipment change-overs, CIP/SIP, clean-up, and set-up.,Perform environmental controls.,Perform product reclaim and rework operations.,Support internal and external audits.,Follow all established occupational health and safety procedures.,Follow all established GMPs and Food Safety requirements.,Cross-train with other departments.,Perform good housekeeping.,Comply with federal, state, and local dairy food regulations.,Adhere to the Saputo Code of Ethics, Company Values, and Workplace Climate Policy.,Work collaboratively with co-workers.,Good math skills.,Good attendance.,Strong verbal and written communication skills.,Proficient computer skills, software, and data entry (SAP a plus).,Strong technical skills, ability to operate and understand equipment controls, touch panels, and mechanical operations.
Lift truck certification or the ability to obtain it (training provided).,Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and background check.,Experience in milk pasteurization (a plus).,Advanced quality/food safety training and/or certifications (a plus, but not required).,A working understanding of food manufacturing acronyms (SQF, QA/QC, CQP, HACCP, SOP, 5S, GMP, etc.).
