Lightspeed is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Field Sales Engineer, also known as a Solution Consultant, to join their team in Lyon, France. This role is crucial for revenue generation by influencing deal strategy, solution design, competitive positioning, and building customer confidence throughout the sales cycle. The successful candidate will drive new business, support strategic accounts, and facilitate seamless collaboration between sales and implementation teams, requiring a deep understanding of Lightspeed's products, strong technical expertise, and excellent interpersonal skills. The position involves regular travel across France to support field sales teams.
Support remote and field sales teams through on-site discovery, customer meetings, and in-person demonstrations across France.,Partner with Account Executives to scope, design, and validate technical solutions, identifying customer needs, risks, and recommending optimal solutions.,Identify technical risks, constraints, and dependencies early in the sales cycle to protect deal value and improve forecasting.,Collaborate with Strategic Account Managers to support customer retention, satisfaction, and expansion.,Contribute technically within Go-To-Market channels, providing product and integration guidance.,Support technical execution of trade shows and industry events, including system setup and troubleshooting.,Develop and maintain expertise in the competitive landscape to support sales positioning and differentiation.,Build deep expertise in Lightspeed's hardware, software, integrations, and APIs.,Deliver Tier 1 partner demonstrations to support onboarding and strengthen relationships.,Act as the technical owner for RFP and RFI responses, coordinating inputs from various teams.,Ensure demo stations and accounts are reliable, up-to-date, and representative of real customer use cases.,Work closely with Implementation and Professional Services for a smooth transition from sales to delivery.,Maintain a close working relationship with regional sales leaders for alignment on priorities and deal strategy.,Act as a conduit between customers and Product teams, sharing feedback and contributing to roadmap awareness.,Own clear, accurate, and timely documentation of customer requirements and technical decisions.
Demonstrated experience in sales, solutions consulting, or customer-facing technical roles.,Exposure to cloud-based SaaS technologies, ideally within hospitality, retail, or adjacent industries.,Strong technical curiosity and ability to learn new technologies quickly.,Knowledge of the hospitality industry, with hands-on restaurant experience highly valued.,Excellent communication skills for technical and business audiences.,Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.,Collaborative mindset and ability to build strong relationships across teams.,Comfort working in a fast-paced, commercial environment.,Basic understanding of APIs and integrations, or strong willingness to develop this skill.,Right to work in the country of application.
