Executive Director, Government Solutions Group

This role at CIBC Capital Markets is focused on leading the SSA syndicate function within the Government Solutions Group. The incumbent will be responsible for originating and distributing vanilla and structured private placements to government, institutional, corporate, and retail clients globally. The position operates within a fast-paced trading floor environment, delivering a broad range of credit, capital markets, investment banking, and research products and services. The individual is expected to be a trusted partner providing global coverage for these products.

What We're Looking For

Lead the government syndication efforts for EMEA/Asia issuers, overseeing all aspects of new issue execution.,Establish and manage a new global MTN desk for the marketing, pricing, and execution of private placements for GSG clients.,Engage with investors, sales, trading, and derivative structuring teams to build a global support network for MTN products, emphasizing distribution.,Cultivate and maintain relationships with key global investors.,Develop and price effective trade ideas for client communication.,Explore and secure internal approvals for new product offerings, such as AUD products and callable notes.,Collaborate with new issue support teams in Toronto and New York to formalize, record, and streamline new issue processes and documentation.,Provide timely funding and derivatives solutions with excellent service.,Demonstrate a strong understanding of cash and derivative operations and settlement, working closely with internal and external operations teams.,Cross-sell ancillary products based on availability and client mandates.,Initiate and develop client relationships through outbound calls, value-add idea generation, meetings, and customized solutions, offering trusted advice.,Work with trading desks across various jurisdictions to formulate ideas that align with risk profiles and communicate flow and themes to clients.,Comply with all applicable CIBC and Line of Business policies, standards, guidelines, and controls.

Ideal Candidate

Minimum 8+ years of related experience.,MBA, CFA, or other relevant professional designation preferred.,Strong knowledge of Capital Markets products.,Relevant MTN experience with a proven track record in private placement marketing and execution.,Sufficient knowledge of the financial services industry and regulatory environment.,Excellent analytical and intellectual capabilities.,Ability to draft comprehensive presentations using advanced frameworks in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.,Thorough understanding of cross-market implications and the ability to identify arbitrage opportunities.,Familiarity with Origination, Syndication, and Swaps Marketing.,Relationships with Government Sector clients and private placement investors are preferred.
