The Equity Research Associate provides comprehensive market research support, compiling and publishing high-quality analysis on corporations, industries, financial markets, and economic developments. This role focuses on the Oilfield Services & Equipment, Gas Turbine, Nuclear Power, Electric Transmission Services & Equipment, and Industrial Gas sectors. The associate will run data analysis, develop research reports, contribute to new solutions, and work with senior research leads on publications.
Compile, analyze, and evaluate data, conducting modeling on multiple data inputs related to assigned companies/industries, financial markets, and economic analysis research reports (e.g., initiating coverage reports, thematic reports, quarterly reporting initiatives, and marketing packages). Assist in the development of valuation tools and provide advice to institutional clients. Assist in the preparation of forecasting models (e.g., forecast quarterly and annual earnings). Maintain and enhance financial models and databases. Stay current on market data, economic information, key industry developments, internal policies, and regulatory standards. Develop and maintain contact with market participants. Work closely with senior research leads on the ongoing publication of research reports and assist with ad hoc projects. Demonstrate governance, control, and risk management behaviors in alignment with TD policies and practices. Adhere to enterprise frameworks or methodologies. Ensure programs/policies/practices are well managed, meet business needs, comply with internal and external requirements, and align with business priorities. Exercise discretion in managing correspondence, information, and matters of confidentiality. Participate in cross-functional/enterprise initiatives as a subject matter expert, identifying risk and providing guidance. Conduct internal and external research projects; support the development/delivery of presentations and communications. Conduct meaningful analysis at the functional or enterprise level using results to draw conclusions and make recommendations. Monitor service, productivity, and assess efficiency levels within own function, implementing continuous process/performance improvements. Actively manage relationships within and across various business lines, corporate, and/or control functions. Maintain a culture of risk management and control. Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment, and ensure timely communication of issues. Provide thought leadership and/or industry knowledge, participating in knowledge transfer. Keep current on emerging trends/developments and grow knowledge of the business. Participate in personal performance management and development activities, including cross-training. Keep others informed about project status and relevant daily information. Contribute to team development through mentorship, sharing knowledge, and leveraging best practices. Undergraduate degree. 2+ years related experience. FINRA SIE, Series 63, 86 & 87, or willing to obtain. Holds or is working towards a CFA designation preferred for publishing analysts and associates. Masters or PhD preferred
