The Equipment Finance Business Development Officer at CIBC will focus on originating and managing loan and lease production. This role involves utilizing an existing network to generate new equipment finance opportunities across the United States. Key responsibilities include prospecting, qualifying, and closing new client relationships, primarily within Middle Market, Mid-Corporate, and Large Corporate segments, while managing existing commercial loan/lease relationships and cross-selling other banking products. The role also involves gathering credit package information, leading deal structuring and negotiations, and participating in reviews of underperforming loans.
Prospect, qualify, and close new client relationships across Middle Market, Mid-Corporate, and/or Large Corporate clients, focusing on new relationships not currently covered by CIBC Bank USA.,Win and nurture client relationships through outbound calls, on-site presentations, and industry event attendance.,Gather initial credit package information, acting as a client liaison through credit negotiation and execution.,Lead deal structuring, pricing, and credit negotiation.,Effectively manage existing commercial loan/lease relationships and cross-sell other bank products and services.,Learn CIBC Bank USA's credit culture to present appropriate credits for approval.,Maintain Salesforce pipeline and client/prospect records.,Participate in review and customer contact for underperforming loans and equipment leases.,Engage with asset management and operations in transaction execution and ongoing portfolio maintenance.
Degree/diploma in accounting, finance, or a related field.,Minimum of 15 years of experience in Compliance, Risk Management, or Legal roles within the banking or financial services industry.,Extensive knowledge of applicable banking laws and compliance frameworks.,Expert interpersonal, communication (oral and written), and problem-solving skills.,Proven business development experience and revenue growth generation within the Equipment Finance space.
Bachelor's Degree (or diploma) in accounting, finance, or a related field
