Description

The Director, Real Estate Credit Risk Management at CIBC is an influential role focused on managing a significant segment of risk-rated credits within the commercial and corporate real estate market. The role involves ensuring effective credit policies and strategies are in place, supporting portfolio quality and growth, and making sound credit judgments. The position requires engagement with the Bank's Risk Management Framework, understanding Bank Capital structures, and developing relationships with National leaders in Commercial/Corporate Banking and Risk.

What We're Looking For

Represent or lead projects/initiatives with National scope, aligning objectives with Business Partners.,Apply sound credit judgment to credit requests, aligning solutions with Risk Appetite.,Support evolution and execution of approved risk rating methodologies.,Develop and maintain industry expertise in the Canadian commercial and corporate real estate market.,Ensure effective management, documentation, and adherence to credit applications, policies, and processes.,Measure, monitor, and control credit risks, identifying and assessing challenges in accounts and asset classes.,Shape action plans to minimize capital, resource costs, and loan losses.,Manage and review reporting processes to identify and resolve credit irregularities.,Analyze portfolio performance for trends, non-performing accounts, revenue/loss ratios, and under-performing units.,Demonstrate expert knowledge of the Canadian commercial/corporate real estate market and credit practices.,Ability to assess different customer requirements and prioritize relevant risk factors.,Calm under pressure, capable of balancing priorities in a complex decision environment.,Problem-solving skills, leveraging experience and networks.,Strong communication and listening skills to influence and make an impact.,Collaborative mindset, driven by collective success and inclusive teamwork.

Ideal Candidate

Degree/diploma in Business/Finance/Accounting, MBA or equivalent.,Proficiency in Fundamental Financial Skills for Commercial / Corporate Real Estate Lending.
