Description

This Director-level position at CIBC is for Real Estate Credit Risk Management. The role is critical for managing risk-rated credits, ensuring compliance with credit policies, maintaining portfolio quality, and fostering growth. Key activities include exercising credit judgment, leading national projects, and overseeing portfolio management to minimize losses and identify trends. The role operates in a hybrid work model.

What We're Looking For

Manage a major segment of risk-rated credits.,Ensure effective credit policies and strategies are in place and adhered to.,Apply sound credit judgment to credit requests, aligning with Risk Appetite.,Develop and maintain industry expertise within the team for the Canadian commercial and corporate real estate market.,Manage and review reporting processes to identify and resolve credit irregularities.,Measure, monitor, and control credit risks, actively engaging to identify and assess challenges.,Represent or lead projects/initiatives with a National scope.,Support the growth of credit capability and relationship trust with Frontline Bankers.

Expert knowledge of the Canadian commercial / corporate real estate market and credit practices.,Ability to assess different customer requirements and prioritize relevant risk factors.,Calm under pressure, able to balance priorities in a complex decision environment.,Problem solver, drawing support from experience and networks.,Ability to influence and make an impact.,Strong relationship and networking skills.,Effective communication and listening skills.,Driven by collective success and collaboration.,Degree/diploma in Business/Finance/Accounting, MBA or equivalent.,Proficiency in Fundamental Financial Skills for Commercial / Corporate Real Estate Lending.,Values aligned with CIBC (trust, teamwork, and accountability).,Fluent in French and English.
